Up for dramas, love, emotions, or –  why not – theatre? Well, then the church of S. Maria della Vittoria is your place.

This church is, like many other churches in Rome, one of those marvellous masterpieces of baroque in Rome, but more than that, here you will find one particular piece of art that will leave you ecstatic!

As you enter the S. Maria della Vittoria, skip all the frescos and go directly to the chapel on the left near the altar. Then, with your imaginary pop-corn (you cannot eat inside churches), you will attend one of the most beautiful dances of marble you’ve probably ever seen.

It might not even look like marble to you, but butter – as soft as it looks. I always fall in love when looking at these kinds of masterpieces. I like from time to time to enter this church and stand for minutes in front of this chapel following with my eyes and feeling the movement of this sculpture inside. At that moment, it seems to me I’m giving a second life to the work, almost as if I was giving the artist the possibility through the piece of art to create something inside me, another version of it, just by looking at it.

Spirituality, Stendhal, or just art, in any case, i’s one of those experiences this chapel can deliver you.
