What I thought when I visited this hidden gem for the first time was: I can still be especially surprised by this already famous neighborhood! Meeting Luca and Alessandro was a magic moment. Their life stories are linked with the whole experience you’ll get inside, from the food to the decor, passing friends who are almost living there, cause it is a lovely place to spend time in. Alessandro in the kitchen and Luca on the floor put their personalities in each square inch of the tavern.

I’ve got the atmosphere I had been looking for for a while in a Roman tavern: familiarity mixed with eccentricity. You will be surrounded by local costumers and welcomed foreigners getting brilliantly together by Luca’s service. His strong personality also named the place, if he has time he’ll tell you the long tale behind “Dar Parucca”.

Luca is also a great creative mind: all the walls are covered in his creations (it’s possible to buy them). You will also be amazed by his graphic novel about Congo but we are in a tavern, so we should talk about food, shouldn’t we? Thanks to Alessandro, it’s all delicious: from typical Roman dishes like pasta amatriciana, gricia, to other seasonal delicacies.

Please, don’t miss the chianina‘s meatballs (you could became addicted to them) and everyday there’s at least one surprising vegan dish. All the ingredients come from a dedicated investigation made with love. You will be back again as soon as you can.
