Do you want to really see everything in Rome? Then come here, to this spectacular viewpoint. When you’re on the top of Monte Mario, you will understand why. From here you can see the whole city, for real. That is also the reason for the inscription standing at the top of the hill, written by an ancient Roman poet, who wrote that from there you could observe Rome in its true dimensions.

Monte Mario is situated in the north part of the city, easy to reach with the underground although you need to walk a bit to reach the highest point of the park. I like to come here when I have too many thoughts and want to relax or also when I’m feeling overwhelmed by this city and all the problems that a place like Rome can have. Here in the middle of the park, between the fresh breeze and nice trees, I can observe detached and freed from all concerns, allowing time for myself to bring together the means I need to face life.

Monte Mario is the kind of place where I can find peace with the city again and again, and that reminds me why I love this city. Observing Rome in all its grandeur lets me forget the little details that sometimes bother me too much and make me lose sight of the beautiful parts of living in a city like Rome.
