Uber launches new helicopter service on Italy's Amalfi Coast
Uber promises "unforgettable" travel experiences in Italy this summer with helicopter rides and boat trips.Multinational ride-hailing app Uber is offering tourists new helicopter and boat services on Italy's southern Amalfi coast this summer.The Uber Copter service, in operation from 26 July to 23 August, will allow tourists to book private helicopter transfers between Sorrento and the island of Capri directly through the app.
Starting from a heliport in Sorrento, the new service offers groups of up to six people a day trip to Capri in a twin-engine, twin-pilot helicopter at a cost of β¬250 per person, with transfers to and from the helicopter included from any point on the Amalfi Coast.

For those who prefer to travel by sea, the company is also offering the Uber Boat service, a four-hour trip from Sorrento along the Amalfi Coast aboard Italian Gozzo 35 boats.
The skippered boat cruises - which are completely free this summer - take in archaeological sites, sea caves and pastel-coloured villages, and come with complimentary refreshments.
The private charter service, available for up to 12 people at a time, will be operating between 26 July and 24 August.

Both the helicopter and boat services will run on Saturdays and Sundays, with advance booking available via Uber Reserve from 25 June.

The new offer by Uber coincides with the opening of the Salerno-Costa d'Amalfi airport to commercial flights this summer.
