Al Pacino meets Pope Leo XIV in the Vatican

Pontiff receives veteran Hollywood actor who arrived in Rome on Sunday on a private jet.Oscar-winning US actor Al Pacino met with Pope Leo XIV privately in the Vatican on Monday, becoming the first Hollywood star to be welcomed by the newly elected pope.The pontiff received a delegation from the upcoming film Maserati: The Brothers, including Pacino and the movie's Italian-Canadian producer Andrea Iervolino who described the meeting as "a moment of profound spiritual and cultural inspiration". The film is a biopic on Italy’s Maserati family and will see Pacino play the role of businessman Vincenzo Vaccaro, a key early investor in the luxury car maker. The movie is currently being filmed in Italy and its cast members include Anthony Hopkins, Andy Garcia, and Jessica Alba, who did not attend the papal audience on Monday.
