Dolce&Gabbana to reveal latest creations against backdrop of Rome landmarks in five-day fashion extravaganza.Italian design duo Dolce & Gabbana will showcase their latest collections in Rome, from 12-16 July, choosing the Eternal City as a location for the first time in their 40-year career. The catwalks, which will include shows of the women's and men's haute couture as well as jewellery, will be staged against the backdrop of some of Rome's most iconic landmarks.
Titled 'The Triumph of Beauty', the five-day event kicks off on Via Veneto on Saturday 12 July with a tribute to Fellini and the Dolce Vita.
This is followed by the presentation of the Alta Gioielleria collection at Villa Adriana in Tivoli on Sunday 13 July, in a tribute to Emperor Hadrian with rubies, diamonds and sapphires.
On Monday 14 July the Alta Moda collection will be presented at the Roman Forum, ahead of the upcoming presentation of the 'Artistic Illumination of the Roman Forum â Palatine' project sponsored by Dolce&Gabbana.
"We came here with the intention of showing in the Roman Forum, because for us it represents the beginning of Rome, the sacred road, the starting point from which everything happened" - Domenico Dolce said during a presentation at city hall on Friday - "We will modestly try to pay tribute to Roman culture, starting from ancient Rome to the fashion of the 1950s."
Where Berniniâs fountains dance and centuries-old palazzi whisper stories of art and empire, Rome prepares to welcome Italian excellence. This summer, the Eternal City becomes the stage for #DGAltaGioielleria, #DGAltaModa, and #DGAltaSartoria, where heritage is reimagined in the⌠pic.twitter.com/rtCBTEuLt3

The next day, Tuesday 15 July, the Alta Sartoria collection will be unveiled along the angel-filled Ponte SantâAngelo, in collaboration with Rome's renowned Sartoria Tirelli.
The event, described as a homage to ecclesiastical tailoring, will take place against the backdrop of Castel Sant'Angelo.
The Dolce&Gabbana Grand Tour of the Eternal City will conclude with a final party at the CinecittĂ film studios on Wednesday 16 July.
The fashion house's founders and designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana said they were "deeply excited" at the idea of showcasing their collections in the Italian capital, stating: "Rome is a special place for us, a symbol of our love for Italy and an inexhaustible source of inspiration."
The fashion events coincide with a sumptuous Dolce&Gabbana exhibition at Palazzo Esposizioni, which comes to Rome following its success in Milan and Paris.
The choice of Rome by the major international fashion houses is part of a growing trend and comes as Valentino and luxury jeweller Bulgari forge increasingly strong links with the Eternal City.
The Dolce&Gabbana events will lead to traffic restrictions, for details see Rome city website.
