The high-speed run took place in the port of Civitavecchia, north of Rome, and required a 40-member team and extensive preparation to ensure a safe and successful attempt on the 236-metre deck. The Roman driver, already the holder of six Guinness World Records, dedicated his latest record to his team and the Italian Navy, telling reporters: "It's an unforgettable day, the fruit of nine months of work and sacrifice".
