Strikes in Italy to affect air travel, trains and local public transport in October

3 October: General strike
A 24-hour national general strike is set to affect rail services operated by Trenitalia,Ā ItaloĀ andĀ TrenordĀ from 21.00 on Thursday 2 October until the same time on Friday 3 October.
Italy's national state-owned railway holding company Ferrovie dello Stato (FS) said in a statement thatĀ the walkoutĀ couldĀ lead to timetable changes "even before and after" the strike times.
Regional rail services are guaranteed in Italy during strikes on weekdays from 06.00 to 09.00 and from 18.00 to 21.00.
The strike has been called by the S.I. Cobas trade union in "support of the Palestinian resistance" and demanding an "end to the genocide" in Gaza.
10 October: Local public transport strike in RomeĀ
Commuters and tourists in RomeĀ can expect disruption to local public transport services on Friday 10 October due to a 24-hour strike.
The industrial action, called byĀ USB Lavoro Privato and ORSA Tpl, will impact the Italian capital's bus, subway and tram services operated by municipal transport provider ATAC.Ā
13 October: Airport staff strike in Rome
Air travellers passing through Rome on Monday 13 October could experience disruption due to a four-hour strike by employees of Aeroporti di Roma (AdR) which manages the capital's Fiumicino and Ciampino airports.
The strike, called by the FAST / CONFSAL unions, will see AdR staff go strike from midday until 16.00.
29 October: Airport strikes in Milan Linate, Florence and Pisa
Passengers travelling through the airports of Milan Linate, Florence and Pisa on Wednesday 29 October could face disruption due to 24-hour strike action by airport staff in a walkout organised by numerous trade unions.
