Italy faces airline strikes on Friday 14 November

EasyJet and Volotea staff plan to stage walkouts.Air travellers at airports in Italy face disruption on Friday 14 November due to two separate strikes planned by employees of airlines easyJet and Volotea.  Pilots and cabin crew employed by Volotea plan a 24-hour strike on Friday, while Italy-based staff at easyJet will stage a walkout from 13.00-17.00.   The Volotea strike has been called by the UILT-UIL union over accusations that the airline is ignoring employee concerns, while the easyJet strike has been called by the USB Lavoro Privato union to demand more stable contracts and better working conditions.   Passengers flying with either carrier in Italy on Friday are urged to contact their airline, tour operator or travel agent.   Italy's civil aviation authority ENAC reminds air travellers that during strikes in Italy flights scheduled between 07.00-10.00 and 18.00-21.00 are guaranteed.   Separately, bus and subway services in Rome will be affected by a 24-hour strike on Friday, while a six-hour strike will affect public transport in the north-eastern city of Udine on the same day, from 15.30 to 21.30.   We update our news of public transport strikes in Italy regularly.
