Italy train conductor stabbed to death in Bologna

Train conductor found dead outside Bologna station.A 34-year-old Italian train conductor was stabbed to death outside Bologna station on Monday evening.The deceased man, named as Alessandro Ambrosio, was found shortly before 19.00 in an area leading to a car park reserved for Trenitalia staff. Police in the north Italian city said they had identified the killer, who remains on the run, after studying surveillance cameras. Italian state broadcaster RAI News and newspaper Corriere della Sera report that the suspect is a homeless Croatian national with a history of assaults at other train stations. Bologna mayor Matteo Lepore, on behalf of the city, expressed "our closeness, at this very painful time, to the family and colleagues of the young train conductor". Deputy Italian premier and transport minister Matteo Salvini offered his "heartfelt solidarity" to the victim's family and colleagues, and confirmed his "determination" to increase security at train stations.
