Laura Pausini to co-host Italy's Sanremo Music Festival with Carlo Conti

Pausini to join Conti as host of the 76th edition of Sanremo.Italian singer-songwriter Laura Pausini will co-host the upcoming Sanremo Music Festival, Italy's most popular song contest, alongside veteran TV presenter Carlo Conti.Pausini rose to fame thanks to Sanremo: she won the newcomer section with La solitudine in 1993, returned to the festival with Strani amori in 1994, and has been a guest on several more recent occasions. The Grammy-winning star, who hosted the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest in Turin with Mika and Alessandro Cattelan, will co-host Sanremo with Conti over five evenings. The event, whose official title is the Festival della canzone italiana di Sanremo, has been held at the seaside town on the northwest Ligurian coast every year since 1951. This year's festival will take place from 24-28 February, a little later than usual to to avoid clashing with the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, whose opening ceremony will feature a performance by Pausini. The 30 acts in competition include established names such as Arisa, Fedez, Tommaso Paradiso, Ermal Meta, Francesco Renga and Patty Pravo, alongside emerging talent.
