a new apartment in the Sallustiano area: via Toscana 2. Managed by From Home to Rome

If you’ve been following From Home to Rome’s blog, you might remember the post about
Toscana 2bis
. Well, its next-door neighbour has just joined the From Home to Rome portfolio — and it was worth the wait!

Completed in early 2026, the apartment sits on the first floor of Via Toscana 42, right alongside its twin. Same building, same bones, same convenient location… But with its own distinct personality.

A flat that makes a statement from the start

The first thing guests will notice — and this is meant with great affection — is a red SMEG refrigerator. It stands in the living area almost like a conversation piece, a deliberate splash of colour against the blue geometric wallpaper and the softer tones of the furnishings. It shouldn’t work, and yet it absolutely does. It sets the tone for an apartment that isn’t afraid to be a little bold while remaining entirely elegant.

Underfoot, the original cementine floors with their hexagonal patterns do what old Roman floors always do: they ground everything and are a great reminder of this building’s (and this area’s) history.

A bedroom, a living room, and a clever trick

Toscana 2, a new holiday rental by From Home to Rome

The bedroom is calm and inviting: a double bed, good lighting, a wardrobe for your luggage, a Smart TV. It’s the kind of room you want to come back to after a long day of Roman explorations.

The living area, though, is where Toscana 2 shows its practical side. Behind the comfortable sofa, a Murphy bed folds down from the wall with very little fuss, turning the flat into a comfortable space for two extra guests (think a young family, or two couples traveling together). When it’s folded away, the room returns to its clean, minimalist self, and you’d hardly know it was there. The kitchen sits on a slightly raised wooden platform that defines the dining area rather neatly, and it’s fully equipped: induction hob, oven, dishwasher, washer-dryer, Nespresso machine, the works!

Close, but not too close!

One of the things that makes the Via Toscana collection special is how well it works for larger groups. Toscana 2 and Toscana 2bis share a building with other (so far!) three From Home to Rome-managed apartments, which means that guests traveling with family or friends — but still wanting their own front door, their own kitchen, their own rhythm — will find exactly what they’re looking for here: independence! Everyone can have breakfast together on one floor and retreat to their own space whenever they like.

A surprise on the rooftop

And then there’s the terrace. All guests staying in the building have access to the shared rooftop, where water, coffee, tea and blankets are waiting. It’s a small, genuine luxury — a quiet spot above the city for starting the morning slowly or ending the evening under the Roman sky. The terrace is open daily from 8am to 11pm, and it can also be booked privately for events: a celebration, a small gathering, a book presentation… Did we just give you an idea? Just get in touch!

A neighbourhood to discover

Via Toscana 42 sits in the Sallustiano district, an area with a certain unhurried elegance to it — embassies, neighbourhood cafés, restaurants where locals actually eat. The Spanish Steps, Villa Borghese and Via Veneto are all within walking distance, and the Barberini metro station is close enough to make the rest of the city feel very manageable.
