The countdown begins for the 83rd BNL International Tennis Tournament, the most prestigious red clay tennis tournament in the world after the French Open.

The top names in Tennis will be coming to duke it out on the clay courts of Foro Italico, a historical stadium built for the Olympic Games of 1960.  This is one of the best events in Rome and this fabulous competition will combine men’s and women’s tournaments. This tournament will give us two weeks of intense tennis under the glorious sunshine of May.

The 2026 Internazionali BNL d’Italia will once again bring some of the biggest names in world tennis to Rome, with world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz leading a star-studded men’s field that also includes Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev and Matteo Berrettini, among many others.

The women’s draw is just as strong, with WTA No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka leading the field alongside Iga Świątek, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, and Italy’s own Jasmine Paolini, the defending champion after her historic title run in Rome in 2025.

The tournament is one of the three ATP World Tour Masters 1000 events contested on clay. Starting from 2023, the Rome ATP Masters 1000 is be one of the three events that will increase its duration from eight to twelve days, having the draw passing from 56 to 96 players.

The Campo Centrale, with around 10,500 seats, is the tournament’s main stadium, while the Grand Stand Arena hosts around 6,500 spectators. A more recent addition is the SuperTennis Arena, set up inside the Stadio dei Marmi and able to accommodate over 3,000 people. The complex also includes the historic Stadio Pietrangeli, one of the most iconic courts at the Foro Italico, famed for its unique setting among marble statues and its unmistakable Roman atmosphere.

The pre-qualification matches will begin as early as April 28, the qualification rounds will start on May 4, while the main draw will kick off on May 5.

The event is more than just tennis: it is a total entertainment experience. This experience includes high fashion, fine food, fabulous shopping, and celebrity musical performances have made the tournament one of the most glamorous stops on the ATP World Tour.
