Via Margutta
is a narrow, enchanted, beautiful street, located in the heart of Rome. The charming paved street is filled with unique
art galleries
, antique shops, fashion houses, and custom made marble shops perfect for strolling. It takes you back to one of the most memorable scenes from the movie “Roman Holiday” where Gregory Peck held Audrey Hepburn hostage in his apartment. Also, the charming street was where director Federico Fellini and Giulietta Masina once lived.

The 125th edition of I Cento Pittori di Via Margutta, one of Rome’s most beloved open-air art exhibitions, will take place from April 30 to May 3, 2026. This year’s spring edition will be dedicated to the especially timely theme “Nature in Transformation”.

The theme will be explored by each artist through either a figurative or abstract approach, with a classical or experimental style, using landscape, detail, material, mark-making, colour, light, layering, or gesture.

Set along one of Rome’s most charming streets, the exhibition offers visitors the chance to discover contemporary art in a unique and atmospheric setting. Via Margutta, lined with galleries, antique shops, and historic buildings, becomes an open-air gallery where visitors can admire oil paintings, drawings, and watercolours in a wide variety of styles, while also meeting the artists behind the works.
