Benito Mussolini's granddaughter wins Italy's Big Brother VIP
Alessandra Mussolini saw off 15 other contestants to win Grande Fratello VIP 2026.Alessandra Mussolini, the granddaughter of fascist dictator Benito Mussolini, has won the eighth series of Italy's Grande Fratello VIP, the celebrity edition of Big Brother.The finale of the Canale 5 show aired on Tuesday night, with former politician Mussolini beating fellow contestant, actress Antonella Elia, in the final public vote, securing 56 per cent of viewer support.
The victory came after nine weeks inside the house, with the series running from 17 March until 20 May.
The final was hosted by Ilary Blasi, with commentators Cesara Buonamici and Selvaggia Lucarelli in the studio.
Dancer Raimondo Todaro finished in third place, followed by actress Adriana Volpe in fourth, TV personality Lucia Ilardo in fifth, entrepreneur Raul Dumitras in sixth, and TV personality Renato Biancardi in seventh.
Mussolini takes home a prize of β¬100,000, half of which, per programme rules, must be donated to a charitable organisation of her choosing.
"I enjoyed everything to the fullest, just as I am" - she said after being declared the winner - "I regret nothing."
Mussolini, 63, previously served as a Member of the European Parliament and as a prominent centre-right politician in Italy's chamber of deputies.
She is the daughter of Romano Mussolini, the youngest son of Benito Mussolini, and his first wife Maria Scicolone, the sister of screen legend Sophia Loren.
She has three children, including the footballer Romano Floriani Mussolini.
In addition to her political career, she was formerly a model, singer and actress, and in 2020 she came third place in the TV dance competition Ballando con le stelle, Italyβs version of Dancing with the Stars.
