Rome has a flavour all its own: poetic, vibrant and effortlessly grand. And there is perhaps no better way to experience that unmistakable Dolce Vita feeling than from a , with the Eternal City stretching out all around you. One place that truly stands out is the rooftop of the Singer Palace Hotel.

Perched above the bustling streets of the historic centre, the terrace feels like a secret urban escape. Surrounded by Roman rooftops, domes and bell towers, it offers memorable views over the city and a privileged location just a short walk from Piazza Venezia, directly off .

It is an inviting destination at almost any time of day, whether you are stopping for a refreshing break while sightseeing, enjoying an aperitivo at golden hour or settling in for a relaxed after-dinner drink. The atmosphere is refined without ever feeling formal, while the attentive staff make both hotel guests and outside visitors feel genuinely welcome.

Inside, Jim’s Bar has a cosy atmosphere reminiscent of a contemporary speakeasy. Outside, however, the view takes centre stage, creating an evocative setting in which to enjoy a drink above the rooftops of central Rome.

The bar keeps things stylish and understated, with an extensive selection of spirits alongside classic cocktails and original creations. Behind the cocktail programme is bar manager Federica Geirola, a recognised name in contemporary mixology.

Her signature cocktail, the Yumi, combines Marendry, Amarena Fabbri bitter, cherry syrup, lime and aquafaba. Fresh, balanced and particularly enjoyable on a summer evening, it is the kind of drink that perfectly complements the warm golden light falling over Rome at sunset.

The creation earned Federica Geirola first place in the Lady Amarena Italia competition in 2021. It can be found alongside her other signature drinks in the “From Jim’s with Love” section of the cocktail menu. Gin lovers can also try Seven Hills, a gin inspired by and produced in Rome.

The menu includes some finger food options and delicious dishes (as well as vegan, , and more), hence spending time on the terrace is a well rounded experience. You can pick between classic cocktails and original concoctions, all served with a variety of savory snacks. If you find yourself wanting more of Singer’s exquisite cuisine, you can also reserve a table at Le Terrazze restaurant, for lunch or dinner, and enjoy it on the amazing mediterranean styled terrace one floor below.

Here the cocktail hour starts from noon, which means you can enjoy the sights and drinks throughout the day, too cool down after a long walk or to enjoy an  during the golden hour. When you are not feeling an early aperitivo, you can taste on of their creative fit drinks or try something from the selection of gourmet coffees (like the Gourmet Pistacchio Espresso). 

With so many unique traits, the magical atmosphere, and careful attention to detail, it’s incredible to think that the hotel, terrace and stunning rooftop have only been open for about 8 years. Lucky for us, it did! It seems like many people agree with us, because Singer Palace Hotel has nearly marking it as excellent and claiming the rooftop as one of the best in Rome for drinks and aperitivo.
