New outlet on Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the 54th Starbucks in Italy.Starbucks has opened its ninth store in Rome, on the central Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, as the American coffee chain continues to expand across the Italian capital.The new outlet, run in partnership with Italian licensee Percassi, is housed inside Palazzo Pichi Manfroni Lovatti, a 15th-century building that retains original vaulted ceilings.   The new Starbucks on Corso Vittorio in Rome   The 300-sqm venue is also the 54th Starbucks to open in Italy, and the first in the country to include a permanent space dedicated to books and book-crossing, where customers can browse, borrow and swap titles.   The initiative builds on the Starbucks Book Club, which has run reading events in Italian stores in recent years.   Starbucks first arrived in Italy in Milan in 2018, and has since opened a growing number of outlets across Rome, including branches at Termini station and near the Italian parliament.   Photo credit: Elena Babanova / Shutterstock.com
