The Ministry of Culture and the Colosseum Archaeological Park express their deepest sympathies to the family of Andrea Moretti, a specialized rope access technician, who passed away last night inside the Flavian Amphitheatre following a workplace accident.

As a sign of mourning, the Park has decided to close to the public for the day.

“A tragic event that leaves us dismayed and stunned. The few words we are able to express are dedicated to Andrea, his family, and his loved ones: we extend our profound and sorrowful condolences to all in the face of the senseless death of a young man carrying out his work,” stated the Minister of Culture, Alessandro Giuli.
