Meloni overtakes Renzi to reach new milestone.Italy's right-wing coalition led by prime minister Giorgia Meloni on Tuesday became the fourth longest-serving in the 79-year history of the Italian republic.In a short social media post to mark the milestone, Meloni wrote: "All the more reason to continue working with dedication and determination, repaying the trust of Italians." The current coalition has clocked up 1,025 days since taking office in Palazzo Chigi on 22 October 2022, putting it just ahead of the Matteo Renzi-led government which lasted 1,024 days (from 22 February 2014 to 12 December 2016).
